So you live in an apartment in Roanoke, VA and you are looking for something to do this Friday night. We have the answer. Blue 5 Restaurant is having a free show featuring Eric Lindell. There is a special Guest too, Sol & Funk Root opening the show!
Having started his career living in New Orleans, he tours both nationally and internationally. Eric’s music has been described by USA Today as “pumping soul into funk, blue and roots-rock.” The Chicago Sun-Times called Lindell “a tremendous raw talent…with a fully realized musical vision.” The Los Angeles Daily News says “Lindell serves up bluesy blue-eyed soul smothered with a big heap of New Orleans funk…The shuffling interplay of electric guitars, percolating organ and Creole horns never fails to make you feel like dancing all the way down Canal Street.”
Lindell has performed with well-known drummers Johnny Vidacovich and Harold Ray Brown (formerly of War) as well as members of Galactic, including Galactics Stanton Moore and Ivan Neville. And this week, lucky for the residents of Roanoke, VA, he'll be here at the Blues 5.
