What kind of pets do you allow? Do you permit exotic pets?

We do not have a weight limit at WestWind, however we do not allow certain aggressive breeds: German Shepherds, Rottweilers, Doberman Pinchers, Chows and Pitt Bulls. If you should have a pet that is a mixed breed that resembles one of the aggressive breeds listed, we would not be able to accept that pet as well. We do not allow exotic pets (snakes, lizards, etc.). A veterinarian verification is required on all dogs registered.

How many pets may I have?

The maximum number of pets allowed is 2, with management’s approval. Combined weight cannot exceed specified weight limit.

Are there any deposits, special fees or monthly charges to have a pet?

There are non refundable fees that go along with being a pet owner. The first pet requires a $350 non refundable fee. A $150 non refundable fee is required to register a second pet. Pet fees are not applied to any expenses as a result of pet damage or cleaning charges.

There are non-refundable fees and deposits that go along with being a pet owner. The total amount due is $375.00. $100.00 is the security deposit, $100.00 non-refundable pet fee and $175.00 for the purchase of two Sure Deposit bonds. There will be Pet Rent in the amount of $10 per pet each month. A Pet Addendum is also required to the Lease Agreement.

Is my security deposit totally refundable?

Security deposits are refundable pending the vacate inspection

If I get a job transfer, Can I break the lease?

We do offer three options to terminate your lease early. All three require at least a 60 days notice.

What utilities are included in my lease?

Water, garbage and sewer service is included in your rent.

How long is the term of the lease?

We offer flexible lease terms.

Do you accept leases for short terms?

We do allow leases as short as 3 months on certain apartment homes.

If something needs to be repaired in my apartment, how do I report it?

You have a couple of options on how to report a service request. You can either call a service request in to the Welcome Center or e-mail to us through our website, WestWindLiving.com.

When is rent payment due?

Rent is due on the first of every month.

What is the day of the month that I am liable for a late charge?

You do not accrue late fees until the close of business on the 5th of the month.

Will you accept electronic payments from my bank?

We do accept electronic payments however they must be in our office by the close of business on the 5th of the month to avoid late fees.

Is there a place where I can pay my rent after hours?

There is a drop box to the right of the front door to the Welcome Center. You may also pay your rent online at WestWindLiving.com.

There is a person who might be staying with me for awhile. Is that permitted by the lease?

If they are going to be staying 7 days consecutive or 14 days a month, we will need to process an Occupant Form on that person.

Do you have reserved parking?

There is no reserved parking. We do ask that if you have more than one vehicle that you not use all front parking spaces for multiple vehicles.

I have a motorcycle, where can I park it?

All vehicles must be parked in designated parking areas.

My children live with me in the summer; do I need to notify your Welcome Center when they arrive?

It is necessary to provide us with all people that will be residing in the apartment.

Can I install my satellite dish at my apartment?

You can install a satellite dish within your patio. It cannot make a permanent change to the building and has to be within the patio to meet our guidelines. You will also need to have certain exposure to get a signal. If you do not, there is nothing we can do to aid you with this issue. Renter’s Insurance is also required when a resident installs a satellite dish.

Do you have cable service?

Yes, the local cable provider is Cox Communications. They also provide internet and phone services.

Will you accept my delivery packages for me?

We will be happy to accept your packages if you are not home.

Do you have a list of Preferred Employers?

We do have preferred employers, call to find out if your employer is on the list.

Where do I register to Vote?

You can register to vote at Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles.

Can I get a co-signer (Guarantor) for negative credit reasons?

We do allow co-signers (Guarantors) for qualifying purposes. The only time you will not be able to use a co-signer (Guarantor) is if there is an issue on the Criminal Check.

2) WestWind offers you the convenience your desire! On-site professional management with Welcome Center hours 7 days a week. Emergency Maintenance available 24 hours a day. Free Notary services, Resident Portal for communication with the Welcome Center and the option of paying your rent on-line. We also offer copy and fax services as well as acceptance of UPS/FedEx packages at the Welcome Center.

3.) WestWind provides the relaxation you crave! Take pleasure in the sparkling swimming pool and sun deck on the hot summer days. Workout at our 24 hour fitness center or play a game of tennis on one of our two tennis courts. Read a book at the gazebo or exercise your pet at one of the two pet parks. Invite your friends to the clubhouse or to grill out at the picnic area. Younger residents will enjoy the playground area.
